Who we are

We are 2 South Africans, Richard and Matt. We’re professional guides and photographers and we have a deep seated passion for many countries in Africa. We’ve spent the last 20 years honing our skills, learning the intricacies of Africa and beyond. Growing up in South Africa gave us an extraordinary advantage to learn and absorb as much as we could from all the corners of our burgeoning country. We both made the conscious decision to immerse ourselves in the natural world and share our knowledge and joy of each chosen place with our guests.

What it means to be a private guide

A Private Guide means that you get to enjoy your vacation and savour every moment. We’re with you from when you first jet in to the last plane back home. Most importantly, we’re here to let you rest, relax and savour the moments with your friends and family, while we capture and tailor make these experiences for you. If you’ve decided you’d like to spend more time with elephants, let’s make it happen!

The sun dipped below the horizon as we landed in Kigali, a sigh of relief escaping our lips after enduring the long flights. A late dinner provided solace before we retired to our rooms, the promise of a well-deserved rest preceding the impending adventure which awaited us with the morning light.
