Our African safari in Botswana with ArcEarth was terrific. Our guide Matt was extremely knowledgeable about all things Africa. He shared so much information with us about the animals and was an excellent spotter and tracker. Matt did so many things “behind the scenes” to ensure we had the best experience during our game drives and while back at camp. He always went the “extra mile” and did so in the best possible way, with such a friendly attitude.

I remain in awe of my experience and find my mind wandering back to Kenya and Tanzania. One of the biggest surprises was the photography assistance by both guides. Somehow it did not register with me that I would receive this attention. Had it not been for Rich at Laikipia I would have no photos of Giza ! Both were kind to me in areas where I have not had help in the past. This was unexpected and very much appreciated. Walking safari outstanding. An 8-year-old gorilla passing me by, held out his right arm and strongly grabbed my leg. That was, by any account an extraordinary experience that will always put a smile on my face. So was sitting on the ground as a pack of wild dogs trotted by, and a couple showing some curiosity about me and my camera - only several inches away.

This was our third trip with Matt in 10 years, and once again, he made it exceptional. Whether its spotting a lion hidden in tall grass from an impossible distance or pulling zip ties from his backpack to fix a broken axle, Matt is always prepared.
